Police have launched a murder investigation after the body of an unidentified woman was found stuffed inside a sack and dumped near the Nairobi River in Dagoretti, Nairobi.

The grim discovery was made on Sunday morning in the Kampi Moto area.

Police officers visited the scene and found the body of an unidentified woman believed to be about 25 years old concealed inside a green sack beside the river.

Investigators believe the woman may have been killed elsewhere before her body was transported and dumped at the scene. Police said there were no signs of a struggle or bloodstains in the area, suggesting the murder did not occur at the location where the body was found.

A preliminary examination did not reveal any visible physical injuries on the body, and the exact cause of death will be established through a post-mortem examination.

The scene was documented and processed before the body was moved to Nairobi City Mortuary for preservation and identification.

Police have appealed to anyone with information that could assist in identifying the deceased or the circumstances leading to her death to report to the nearest police station as investigations continue.

And police have launched a murder investigation after a 33-year-old security guard was found stabbed to death near the gate of a company in the Imara area of Embakasi, Nairobi.

The body of Justus Muthee Nzioki, a security officer attached to Mal Plast along Maasai Road, was discovered at about 6.30 a.m. on Sunday approximately 10 metres from the gate of Ramco Group of Companies.

Police responded to the scene and found the deceased lying on his back in a pool of blood.

A preliminary examination revealed that Nzioki had sustained a stab wound to the chest.

Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) officers from Embakasi photographed, documented and processed the scene. Police did not recover the murder weapon but found the deceased’s mobile phone in his pockets.

The body was moved to Nairobi City Mortuary, where a post-mortem examination will be conducted to establish the exact cause of death.

Police have commenced investigations to identify the assailant and establish the circumstances surrounding the killing.
