Citizen TV’s Jacque Maribe had a rather tough 2018 especially towards the end of the year when her fiance, Joe “Jowie” Irungu and herself were charged with the murder of a businesswoman identified as Monica Kimani.

Before September came around, Jacque and Jowie had been engaged for at least two months and had been dating for a year.

Fast forward to February 2019, the Citizen TV editor has pulled down every single image reminding her of the July 2 engagement party where she was serenaded by Kidum with her close friends present.

Going through her Instagram page, the only reminder of the engagement which we can not independently verify if it is still on or not, is Maribe hanging out with her popular friends and one where she promised to “stay with him when no one is a around.”

@jowie.jowi We’ve been together for a while now, We’re growing stronger everyday now, It feels so good and there’s no doubt, I will stay with you… As each morning brings sunrise, And the flowers bloom in springtime, On my love you can rely, And I’ll stay with you… Oh I’ll stay with you through the ups and the downs, Oh I’ll stay with you when no one else is around, And when the dark clouds arise, I will stay by your side, I know we’ll be alright, I will stay with you… Happy Jteam day ❤️

But when they last appeared in court together in December 18, 2018 they were sharing warm hugs as Maribe’s mother looked on.

Jowie is still being held at the Kamiti Maximum Prison after Justice James Wakiaga denied him bail and described him as the male version of a slay queen.

Jacque, a mother of one was released on a Sh200,000 bail.
