    Civil Societies Call For The Disbandment Of IEBC, Term Repeat Elections As A Sham

    Civil societyCivil Societies and trade unions under the banner of ‘we the people’  have dismissed the elections that were carried out on October 26 which they said that were a sham. They have also rejected the call for a fresh elections in 90 days.

    They say that the country needs healing and that it will be impractical to conduct the elections so soon after the October 26 elections.

    The organizations have also noted that they do not know the extent that the opposition will affect the legitimacy of the presidency therefore conducting elections with the same commission will be impossible.

    They have also called for the disbandment of the electoral body IEBC so that a credible electoral body may be established.

    The Civil society organizations have called for a one year period for transition so that a credible process can be conducted.
