A construction worker died after being struck on the head by a falling concrete block at a building site in Tudor, Mombasa County.

According to police, the incident occurred Tuesday morning at approximately 9:00 a.m. at the Dreamwood Luxury Apartments construction site, located in Tudor near Nyumba ya Wazee.

The deceased was identified as Jotham Olouch, a 39-year-old construction worker employed at the site.

Police said a four-inch concrete block fell from the 11th floor of the building under construction and struck him on the head, causing severe injuries.

He was immediately rushed to Tudor Health Care Clinic for emergency treatment but succumbed to his injuries while undergoing medical care.

The body was transferred to the Coast General Teaching and Referral Hospital mortuary for preservation pending a post-mortem examination.

Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident, including compliance with workplace safety measures at the construction site.

And plice in Narok Central Sub-County have launched a manhunt for two suspects following the brutal killing of a 35-year-old man at Olkinyei Shopping Centre in Narok County.

The incident was reported on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at around 1:30 p.m.

Officers from Narok Police Station, accompanied by Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) personnel from Narok Central, visited the scene and found the body of Thuo Waitana lying outside a one-room rental house.

Investigators established that the victim had sustained deep cut wounds to the neck and head. Police also noted signs of severe mutilation to the face. Due to the graphic nature of the injuries, authorities have withheld further details as investigations continue.

At the scene, detectives recovered two blood-stained Maasai swords believed to have been used in the attack. Inside the deceased’s house, officers also recovered four blood-stained bedsheets, which were preserved as exhibits.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the victim was allegedly attacked and killed by his neighbour, identified as Muindi Sururu, and the neighbour’s wife, identified only as Joan. The two suspects reportedly fled immediately after the incident.

Crime scene officers processed the area before the body was moved to Narok County Referral Hospital Mortuary for a post-mortem examination.

Police have launched a search for the suspects as investigations into the motive and circumstances surrounding the killing continue.
