Kitui Senator David Musila has denied endorsing President Uhuru Kenyatta. Musila made the turn around during an interview on Citizen Tv.
The Kitui gubernatorial hopeful on Friday, June 9, urged Ukambani people to vote for the Jubilee government. He and Kitui West MP Francis Nyenze praised President Uhuru Kenyatta and the Jubilee administration for a job well done in its endevours to empower special groups. The two leaders singled out Jubilee’s projects to empower the youth, women and the disabled and general development as outstanding.
In an interview, with Citizen TV on Monday morning, Musila denied endorsing Uhuru claiming his words were taken out of context. Musila said he was only referring to Uhuru’s track record and was not urging the people of Kitui to vote for the president.
When the senator was asked about Kitui West MP Francis Nyenze’s remarks supporting Uhuru’s re-election, Musila said he could not speak for Nyenze.
Musila said he was an independent candidate and was shocked by the media reporting.
”The National Super Alliance (NASA) is the most popular coalition in the area and I know that people support them it would hard for me to endorse Uhuru this region,” Musila said.
With the elections fast approaching, it seems like it is ‘every man for himself,’ as expressed by various hopefuls.
