Donny van de Beek is a Dutch professional footballer born on April 18, 1997, in Nijkerkerveen, Netherlands.

He plays primarily as a central midfielder, known for his technical ability, intelligent movement, goal-scoring instincts from midfield, and work rate.

A product of the Ajax youth academy, van de Beek rose to prominence with the Amsterdam club before moving to Manchester United in 2020.

He has represented the Netherlands at senior international level with over a dozen caps.

Van de Beek is in a relationship with Estelle Bergkamp, daughter of Dutch legend Dennis Bergkamp, and the couple has two children: a daughter named Lomeé born in 2022 and a son named Navy born in 2024.

Donny comes from a football-oriented family that supported his early development in the sport.

He has a younger brother named Rody van de Beek, who also played football at a youth level for Veensche Boys, the same local club where Donny began his career and where their father André once played.

Van de Beek started his football journey at local club Veensche Boys before joining Ajax’s famed youth academy in 2008.

He progressed through the ranks and made his senior debut for Ajax in 2015, quickly establishing himself as a dynamic midfielder.

During his time at Ajax, he became a key player in their attacking midfield, contributing significantly to domestic successes and impressing in European competitions, including a run to the UEFA Europa League final in 2017.

In September 2020, he transferred to Manchester United in a deal worth around £35-40 million.

However, his time at Old Trafford was hampered by limited playing opportunities, injuries, and competition for places.

He had loan spells at Everton in 2022 and Eintracht Frankfurt in 2024 to gain more minutes.

In July 2024, van de Beek signed permanently with La Liga side Girona.

He has continued his career in Spain, adapting to new tactical demands while dealing with further injury setbacks, including an Achilles tendon issue.

Internationally, he has featured for the Netherlands, participating in major tournaments and qualifiers.

    Accolades

With Ajax, van de Beek secured multiple Eredivisie titles, KNVB Cups, and Dutch Super Cups.

At Manchester United, he added an EFL Cup (Carabao Cup) to his collection.

He was also part of the Netherlands U17 team that reached the final of the UEFA European Under-17 Championship in 2014.

Individually, he earned recognition as Eredivisie Talent of the Month in November 2017 for his standout performances.
