Noordin Haji, the Director of Public Prosecutions has approved the prosecution of Busia Governor Sospeter Ojaamong’ and nine other county officials for the loss of Sh.20 million.

The officials, Haji says will face charges of abuse of office and flouting procurement procedures.

Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) investigators found that the county boss’ office had single sourced a waste management tender to Madam R Limited.

Ojaamong is also accused of conspiring to steal more than Sh.20 million from the county coffers.

But the governor on his part says that EACC is on a political witch-hunt.
