    Education CS Ogamba makes key appointments to university and national polytechnic councils

    Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Migos Ogamba has made a series of appointments and reappointments to the councils of public universities and national polytechnics.

    In a Gazette Notice dated June 26, 2026, Ogamba reappointed David Morang’a Oyugi, Joan Atieno Odawa, Amb. Ambeyi Ligavo, Isaac Kiprop Chebon and Dr. Willis Gesami Omwoyo as members of the Council of the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology.

    The Cabinet Secretary also reappointed Esther Wanjiru as a member of the Council of South Eastern Kenya University.

    At Maasai Mara University, Ogamba reappointed Dr. Susan Chebet, Elizabeth Ayoo, Dickson Malanga Shikanga and Agnes Busienei as council members. He also appointed Prof. Geoffrey M. Ole Maloiy as the Non-Executive Chairperson of the university council and Millicent Leila Lenguri as a member.

    At Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT), Joel Yego and Velma Mudanyi Mudasa were reappointed as members of the university council.

    For Pwani University, Ogamba reappointed Mohamed Salim Badamana as the Non-Executive Chairperson of the council. He also reappointed Amb. Benjamin Mweri, Sang Kiptanui David, Fatma Mohammed and Japhet Mvoyi Ria as council members.

    At Kisii University, Prof. Sara Ruto was reappointed as the Non-Executive Chairperson of the council, while Samson Muchelule was reappointed as a member.

    Ogamba also reappointed Prof. Peter Salim Ndemo as the Non-Executive Chairperson of the Turkana University Council. Jared Oyier, Shadrack Kemoi Lemuywara, Dr. Dominic Kimutai Biwott and Carolyne Ekwom were reappointed as members.

    At Chuka University, Prof. David T. K. Serem was reappointed as the Non-Executive Chairperson of the council, while Crispus Micheni Ndeke, Linet Kwamboka Maganda, Samuel Gacheru Gitonga, Zephania Rwanda Mbaka and Margaret Makhungu were reappointed as members.

    The Cabinet Secretary also announced appointments to the councils of several national polytechnics.

    Charles Aondo Kimwoni was appointed Non-Executive Chairperson of the Nairobi National Polytechnic Council, alongside Stephen Kimaiyo Masacha, Rose Mwaura, Brenda Oliwa and Peter Mwangi Karanja as members.

    For the Taita Taveta National Polytechnic Council, Esther Kalunda Ndile was appointed Non-Executive Chairperson, while Nahashon Ndaretoi Mesula, Anne Aluku and Justin Mabati were appointed as members.

    At Michuki National Polytechnic, Benson Ngari Kamau was appointed Non-Executive Chairperson. Sheila M. Nyamweya, Lydia Muthoni Miano, Christine Jane Njeri Macharia and Philiph Kiplagat Mitei were appointed as members of the council.
