    Electrician killed after lorry airbag explodes at garage in Embakasi

    Detectives are investigating an incident where an electrician died after an airbag that he was fixing on a lorry exploded on him at a garage in Embakasi area, Nairobi.

    The incident happened on September 23, 2025 and affected one Mathew Muli Wambua, 37.

    He was fixing an airbag system on a lorry when the rear cross member diff airbag pushed him to the chassis of the trail cross front member killing him, witnesses and his colleagues said.

    Police were called to the scene and moved the body to the mortuary for autopsy and other procedures.

    Meanwhile, police in Chepkube, Bungoma County are investigating murder in an incident where the body of one Yohana Kones, 32 was found lying on his compound.

    The man had been killed and his body abandoned in his compound, police said.

    Police said the body had visible injuries on the forehead, right hand and both legs.

    Police said they are looking for the deceased’s wife and his brother-in-law over the murder.

    There had been a dispute between the deceased man and his wife over their son.

    The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and investigations.

    And police are investigating the cause of a fire that burnt down a house in Karen’s Miotoni area on Tuesday afternoon.

    The owners of the house claimed it was caused by a laptop that had exploded. The laptop was left charging when it exploded, they claimed.

    Police however said they are investigating the incident. Property of unknown value was destroyed in the incident. No one was injured, police said.

    In Kiunga, Lamu County, a boat rider and his turnboy were rescued after the boat capsized in the Indian Ocean.

    The boat was racing with several kilos of miraa when the incident happened on Tuesday September 23, 2025 in the morning.

    The cargo was lost but the two and the boat were rescued, police said.
