Police in Kisii County arrested five people to assist with investigations into the death of a 51-year-old man whose body was discovered inside a club at Kiango Shopping Centre in Kenyenya Sub-County.

The deceased, identified as Peter Ombeo, was found dead on the floor of Armstrong Club in Kiango Sub-location on October 13, 2026.

The incident was reported at around 11 a.m. after members of the public raised the alarm over the discovery.

Police found Ombeo, lying on his side on the floor, with blood oozing from his nose with no visible physical injuries.

Preliminary investigations established that the deceased had been at the club with two other people, who reportedly ordered drinks and continued drinking after the establishment closed.

The group allegedly requested a private room, where they locked themselves inside and continued drinking into the morning.

A bar attendant reportedly discovered Ombeo’s body while cleaning the premises. The two other individuals were said to be heavily intoxicated and unable to explain what had happened.

Police processed and documented the scene before arresting five people to assist with investigations.

Ombeo’s body was moved to Gucha Sub-County Referral Mortuary, where it awaits preservation and a postmortem examination to establish the cause of death.

Investigations are ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding the death.

And police in Kitui County have launched investigations after the body of an unidentified middle-aged man was found near Unyaa Dam in Kitui Central Sub-County.

The body had two puncture wounds on the left ear, while blood had oozed from multiple injuries to the head and chest.

Police noted that the deceased’s black rubber shoes and clothing appeared clean despite the injuries, raising suspicion that he may have been killed elsewhere before his body was transported to the scene.

Faint vehicle tyre marks were also observed leading towards the scene, a few metres from the dam.

Officers processed the scene before moving the body to the Kitui County Referral Hospital mortuary, where it awaits identification and further examination.

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death and are yet to identify the deceased.

Meanwhile, a 56-year-old man was killed following a suspected fight over a grazing land dispute in Kaseku area, Ndithini Location, Machakos County.

The deceased, identified as Karanja Muthoga, was found lying dead on the ground by a community policing member who reported the incident.

Preliminary investigations established that the deceased had a grazing land dispute with his neighbour.

The dispute allegedly escalated into a physical confrontation during which Kasiola is suspected of striking Muthoga with a blunt object beneath the right ear, inflicting injuries that led to his death.

Police officers visited and processed the scene.

The suspect had fled by the time police arrived and was still at large, while the weapon believed to have been used in the killing had not been recovered.

The body was moved to Comboni Mortuary in the company of the deceased’s relatives, where it awaits a postmortem examination.

Police investigations into the incident are ongoing as officers pursue the suspect.
