Gor Mahia coach Hasan Oktay admitted that his side deserved to lose to Zamalek because they did play well.

K’Ogalo were obliterated 4-0 in the penultimate fixture of the Caf Confederation Cup Group D in Alexandria on Sunday night.

Two goals in each half was more than enough to revenge a 4-2 first leg loss in Nairobi.

“Unfortunately we didn’t play well but Zamalek deserved to win the three points. They played very well. It was a fair game. We have one game to play in Nairobi and hopefully we win there at home,” said the Cypriot.

His equal opposite Christian Gross hailed his side for the humongous win but remained cautious ahead of final fixtures next week.

“We did great and we deserved to win, I’m really satisfied with the result and performance. But we have to prepare for the next game the best way we can.”

Gor Mahia will need victory in their last group game against Petro Atletico of Angola on Sunday at the Kasarani Stadium to reach the quarterfinals.

Zamalek will travel to NA Hussein Dey on the same day.
