Drawing a lion face is a fun and simple activity that helps kids and beginners improve their drawing skills. The lion is often called the “king of the jungle,” and its face is known for a bold expression and a big, fluffy mane. In just a few steps, you can draw a friendly or fierce lion face using basic shapes and lines. Here is how to draw a lion face.

Step 1: Draw a Circle for the Face

Start by drawing a large circle in the center of your page. This will be the lion’s main face. Don’t worry if it’s not perfect—just keep it round and even.

Step 2: Add Two Small Ears

On the top sides of the circle, draw two small round ears. You can make them slightly curved or like the letter “C” facing out. Inside each ear, draw a smaller shape to show the inner part of the ear.

Step 3: Draw the Mane Around the Head

Now, draw the lion’s mane all around the circle. You can do this by making lots of small, curved bumps or zigzag lines around the outer edge of the head. The mane should look big, fluffy, and surround the whole face like a sun.

    Step 4: Add the Eyes

Inside the face circle, draw two medium-sized circles for the eyes. Inside each eye, draw a small black dot or oval for the pupil. You can make the eyes wide and friendly or narrow for a fierce look.

Step 5: Draw the Nose and Mouth

Just below the eyes, draw an upside-down triangle for the nose. Then, add a short vertical line going down from the nose, and two curved lines going out to each side for the mouth. Add small dots or whisker spots around the mouth area if you like.

    Step 6: Add Extra Details

To make your lion face more detailed, you can add eyebrows above the eyes, whiskers near the mouth, and extra lines in the mane to show texture. If you want to make it playful, draw a tongue or teeth inside the mouth.

    Step 7: Outline and Color

Use a black pen or marker to trace over your drawing. Erase any extra pencil lines. Then, color your lion face. Use yellow, orange, or light brown for the face and darker brown or red for the mane. Color the nose black and add white or light highlights in the eyes to make them shine.
