Inspector-General of Police Douglas Kanja is leading a Kenyan delegation in Italy for bilateral and technical engagements aimed at strengthening security cooperation between the two countries.
On Monday, October 12, the delegation held talks with Italy’s National Cybersecurity Agency (ACN), focusing on strengthening collaboration in cyber crisis management through a whole-of-society approach.
The meeting was hosted by ACN Deputy Director General Dr Nunzia Ciardi, bringing together officials to explore ways of enhancing cooperation in addressing emerging cybersecurity threats.
The whole-of-society approach seeks to strengthen coordination among government institutions, private sector players and other stakeholders in responding to cyber incidents and managing security crises.
The Kenyan delegation later visited Leonardo’s Cyber and Security Solutions Division, where officials were briefed on the company’s multi-domain technological capabilities for global security.
The visit provided an opportunity for the delegation to gain insights into technological solutions that support security operations across different domains.
Kanja is accompanied by officials from the Kenyan Embassy in Italy, led by Ambassador Fredrick Matwanga.
The engagements form part of Kenya’s broader efforts to deepen international security partnerships and strengthen institutional and technical capacity to respond to evolving security challenges, particularly in the cybersecurity domain.
