    Kenya’s amputee team to this year’s World Cup in Mexico have done well and are through to the second round of the championship.

    The Amputee Stars finished second behind Turkey in their group to sail through.

    They gathered six points from three matches after beating USA 2-1 and being handed a walkover after Liberia failed show up for their last group match.

    Kenya, who lost to Turkey in their opening match 4-1 will now face the reigning World champions Russia for a spot in the quarterfinals.

    Amputee football match is played for 50 minutes with seven players from each side on crutches.
