Deputy President Kithure Kindiki Sunday cautioned political leaders against reckless and careless talk that could jeopardize the nation’s unity and stability.

Prof. Kindiki said President William Ruto has made sure every part of the country is included in the nation’s development agenda hence deserve support and prayers not frustration.

“The President has ensured a united country. He has made sure every part of the country is wholly included in the government’s development agenda without discriminating against any for their political, religious or regional affiliations,” DP noted.

Speaking when he attended a Church Service at Kapsabet ACK Diocese, Nandi County on Sunday, the Deputy President asked leaders to complement the President’s efforts for the nation’s progress and development.

“I am requesting all the political leaders to be cautious on how they talk so they don’t harm the progress made in bringing the country together,” he added.

The DP said the President is focused on full realization of the expansive agenda enumerating several projects underway in the country, including in Nandi, saying they have been realized after the economy was stabilized.

Completion of the projects is presently the main focus, DP stated, calling on leaders not to lose sight of what to be achieved before the next elections.

“We remain focused on doing the right thing, building our country, accounting for our time in office and supporting our President who is the vision carrier of our country’s unity. We must support him to deliver and everything else will fall in place in the days to come,” he said.

Prof. Kindiki said Nandi County has benefitted from roads, markets, affordable housing projects among others pledging their full implementation as promised by the Head of State.

He noted that as the President’s principal assistant, he is working tirelessly to ensure all the presidential directives are implemented as envisioned.

“We are rolling out a robust development programmeon roads, electricity, and markets. As the DP, I am working with the CSs and PSs to ensure the President’s directives are implemented. I will follow up all the promises and ensure they are implemented in Nandi County and everywhere in this country,” DP pledged.

On agricultural reforms, the DP said key interventions by the government have borne fruit citing better pay for sugar, coffee and other farmers.

The DP said concerns on tea bonuses this year are being addressed adding that he will work with all sub-sector stakeholders to find a lasting solution.

“We will find a lasting solution to the low tea bonuses. Implementation of Agriculture reforms have been delegated to me by the President. I have taken up the issue. I will hold a meeting with leaders from the West of Rift to find a solution to this issue,” he declared.
