Detectives are investigating an incident where a man was clobbered to death in an attack in Akiba estate, Nairobi.
The deceased was identified as Derrick Masinde. The incident happened on Sunday morning and the motive of the murder was not immediately known.
The deceased was hit by a metal rod in the head and died on the spot, police said, adding two men collaborated in the attack.
Police arrived at the scene and moved the body to the mortuary pending an investigation.
Elsewhere in Thogoto, Kiambu County, a man was found murdered and his body abandoned on the roadside.
Police visited the scene and identified him as Victor Karani Ndwiga, 30 adding the body had visible injuries on the forehead covered with blood and fresh injuries on the upper limbs.
Signs of strangulations around the neck of the deceased were visible, police said adding there were blood stains from a distance leading to the position of the body, suggesting a confrontation between the deceased and the assailants.
Police said they were investigating murder in the issue and no arrest was made. The motive of the murder was not known even as the body was moved to the mortuary for other procedures.
In Kisumu’s Dago area, police found a decomposed body of a man in a house.
The police identified him as Eric Omondi, 39. His body lay in his father’s abandoned house. Police said the body had been at the scene for some time before it was discovered decomposed and moved to the mortuary pending investigations.
In Mamba, Kwale County, one Samuel Gereza, 59 was found dead with three arrows lodged in his body.
Police said the deceased was confronted in his house and killed by unknown assailants on Sunday morning. The motive of the murder was not immediately known and the body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy, police said.
Such murder incidents in the area in the past have been linked to land disputes.
