Police in Mutomo, Kitui County, are investigating a murder incident after the body of a 60-year-old man was found along a roadside on Monday morning.

According to the police, the incident was reported on Monday April 20.

The deceased was later identified as Francis Nzuu, a 60-year-old resident of the area.

Police noted that the body had multiple deep head injuries believed to have been inflicted using a blunt object, pointing to a violent attack.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the killing may be linked to a long-standing land dispute involving a neighbour who recently died and was buried last month.

The scene was processed by investigators before the body was moved to Mutomo Sub-County Hospital mortuary, where it awaits a postmortem examination.

Authorities have launched investigations into the incident as they pursue leads to establish those behind the killing.

Elsewhere, a 50-year-old man was found dead inside his house at Theta Victory Estate in Juja, Kiambu County.

The deceased, identified as John Wainaina Kamau, was discovered by his father at around 11:00 a.m.

The father had gone to check on him at his residence when he found him lying face down on the floor beside his mattress inside the bedroom.

Preliminary observations indicated that the body had no visible physical injuries. However, the deceased was noted to have vomited a white substance, raising questions about the cause of death.

The scene was processed by forensic officers, and the body was later moved to Kenyatta University Funeral Home, where it awaits a postmortem examination to establish the exact cause of death.

Investigations into the incident are ongoing.

And police in Makueni County launched investigations into a suspected murder after the body of a 68-year-old man was discovered by the roadside early Monday morning.

According to police, the incident was reported at around 7:00 a.m., after a member of the public alerted authorities to the presence of a body along the busy Wote–Makindu tarmac road near Kathonzweni Market.

Police responded to the scene and found the lifeless body of a man lying face down with visible head injuries.

A search conducted on the body led to the recovery of identification documents bearing the name Benard Maweu Kimeu, aged 68, a resident of Kitise Division.

Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) officers processed the area before the body was moved to Makueni County Referral Hospital morgue, where it awaits a postmortem examination.

Police have classified the case as a suspected murder and have launched investigations to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident and identify those responsible.
