    Marquis Grissom’s Baseball Career

Grissom was born in 1967 in Atlanta, Georgia. He attended Florida A&M University, where he played college baseball before beginning his professional career.

The Montreal Expos selected him in the third round of the MLB Draft. Grissom made his Major League debut for the Expos on August 22, 1989.

He quickly established himself as a talented center fielder. His combination of speed and defensive ability made him an important player for Montreal during the early years of his career.

Grissom remained with the Expos until 1994 before joining his hometown Atlanta Braves.

    Atlanta Braves

Grissom played for the Atlanta Braves from 1995 through 1996. His time in Atlanta included one of the biggest achievements of his career.

His defensive performances also helped establish his reputation as one of the league’s premier center fielders. He won four consecutive Gold Glove Awards from 1993 through 1996.

Grissom was also selected to the MLB All-Star Game in 1993 and 1994 while playing for the Expos.
