Education Cabinet Secretary Migos Ogamba Thursday said he has already instructed a probe into the ongoings at the Kisii National Polytechnic.

He spoke exclusively to Kahawa Tungu hours apart after the college’s embattled principal Tom Mulat chided those calling for his removal from office.

“Am seized of the matter and my PS is already handling the matter,” Ogamba told Kahawa Tungu by phone Thursday afternoon.

Mulat has been on the eye of a storm over arbitrary sackings of college staff sparking fury from the local political leadership.

Two former Ward Reps Samuel Apoko (Kiogoro) and Kefa Mogaka (Kisii Central) Wednesday accused the principal of graft, nepotism and highhandedness and called on Education CS Migos Ogamba to transfer him from the region.

Apoko described the ongoings at the institution as ‘ grave and unsettling’ thus warranting ‘investigations’ and higher political interventions.

Mogaka, on his part, said they wanted the principal kicked out and another principal brought in.

Speaking to journalists at his office Mulat however said he was not in a position to comment to ‘street rumor peddlers’.
