Mombasa MCA Francis Kyambia has been charged in court for subversive activity. The Airport ward MCA was charged for alleging that president Kenyatta was not the president of Kenya but a caretaker president.

Francis Kyambia has also been charged with giving information with intent of stopping the October 26 elections. The prosecution said that he said that the people of Mombasa have decided that there will not be elections on October 26, he proceeded to say that they will do everything possible to enure there is no election.
The MCA was released on on bond of Ksh.200000 with a surety of the same amount or a cash bail of Ksh.100000. An attempt by the prosecution to make an application to ask the court not to release Francis Kyambia on bail was denied by the court saying that the application was an afterthought.
Babu Owino MP for Embakasi is also facing charges of subversion for remarks he had made allegedly referring to the president as ‘mtoto wa mbwa’.
