    Nurse found dead in his house in Busia

    Police in Busia County are investigating a sudden death incident after a 52-year-old nurse was found dead inside his rented house in Murumba Township within Butula Sub-County.

    Police officers received information about a man who had been found lying dead at Murumba Township in Bukhalalire Sub-location, Marachi Central Location.

    A team of police officers visited the scene and found the lifeless body of Alexander Onyango Odongo.

    Police said the deceased, who worked as a nurse at Khunyangu Sub County Hospital, was discovered lying dead on his bed inside his one-bedroom rented house.

    Preliminary examination indicated that the body had no visible physical injuries.

    The scene was processed and documented before the body was moved to Same Day Classmates Funeral Parlour awaiting an autopsy to determine the cause of death.

    And police in Makueni County are investigating a sudden death incident after a man was found dead inside servants’ quarters in the Kiunduani area within Makindu Sub-County.

    The deceased was identified as John Munyau Kyalo.

    Police said the man’s employer discovered the body after going to check on him at the servants’ quarters on Tuesday morning.

    Upon opening the door, he reportedly found Kyalo lying face down on the bed and unresponsive.

    Police who visited the scene established that the deceased was epileptic and preliminary findings suggest he may have suffered a fatal seizure during the night.

    The scene was processed by scenes of crime personnel before the body was moved to Makindu Sub County Mortuary pending an autopsy to establish the exact cause of death.

    Elsewhere, police in Homa Bay County are investigating a drowning incident after the body of a 59-year-old man was discovered floating in a stagnant water pool in Ramba village, within Rachuonyo East Sub-County.

    According to a report filed at Kenya Police Service Othoro Police Station on May 12, 2026, officers responded to information that a body was seen floating in the water body.

    Police officers visited the scene and identified the deceased as Charles Otieno Obudho, 59.

    Preliminary examination of the body reportedly revealed no visible physical injuries.

    Police said the deceased was last seen alive on May 11, 2026 at around 7pm at Ramba Trading Centre, where he was reportedly in good health.

    The scene was processed and documented before the body was moved to Jawabu Funeral Home awaiting a postmortem examination to establish the exact cause of death.
