kisumuThere was panic at the Kisumu county offices on Friday after Deputy Governor Mathews Owili got to work before his staff.

The staff were caught unawares and now fear being reproached for reporting to work later than their boss.

The Deputy Governor is said to have been in his office by 6.45 am. Owili waited for his staff who arrived as late as 9 am.

The county officers are said to have only emulated their former boss, Jack Ranguma who arrived later on in the day.

Ranguma got to his meetings long after they had started.

Governor Anyang Nyong’o on Thursday suspended 23 county officials.

“The move is not aimed at punishing someone but purely administrative work meant to ensure the transition is done smoothly within the county,” Nyong’o said.
