President William Ruto is currently meeting 32 Jubilee-elected members of Parliament at State House.

According to those privy to the goings-on, the meeting started at around 8 am.

Speaking to the Star, Adan Keynan said they want to be part of the government while Laikipia North MP Sara Korere said they might have to leave Jubilee and join the Kenya Kwanza camp.

Nominated MP Sabina Chege said Jubilee does not want to be left in the cold.

“We don’t want to feel left out in your government so we kindly request you to include us in your development plans,” said the minority deputy chief whip.

Also in attendance was Deputy Rigathi Gachagua who asserted that the head of state was willing to work with all leaders despite their political affiliation.

“The president wants everyone on board and you’re welcome to join us,” he said.

On Tuesday, the UDA leaders met 10 ODM MPs and senators mainly from the Nyanza Region, causing divisions within the Raila Odinga-led outfit.

The Orange party distanced itself from the meeting terming the leaders as “selfish”.

“We know that in the quest for legitimate leadership, there are those who will fall by the wayside, and some will be compromised, but the movement remains unstoppable. History will judge harshly leaders who want to betray Kenyans by accepting handouts to scuttle the activities of the movement,” said ODM through party communications director Phillip Etale.

“We call on Kenyans to ignore such selfish leaders who only care about their stomachs and not the well-being of the millions of poor Kenyans.”

The ODM legislators at State House were; Lang’ata MP Phelix Odiwuor alias Jalang’o, Kisumu Senator Prof. Tom Ojienda, Kisumu East MP Shakeel Shabbir and Gem MP Elisha Ochieng.

Others were; Gideon Ochanda (Bondo), Mark Nyamita (Uriri), Caroli Omondi (Suba South), Paul Abuor (Rongo) and John Owino (Awendo).

The President had also met Jubilee leaders on January 23.
