President William Ruto and several Cabinet Secretaries have made new appointments and reappointments to government boards and regulatory bodies, according to a Gazette notice dated October 9, 2026.
Ruto reappointed Job Chirchir as the Non-Executive Chairperson of the Water Services Regulatory Board, a position he first took up in October 2023.
The President also reappointed Francis Habara Moroto, Habon Billow Farah, Joseph Kimutai Boit and Rusiana Makasi Mitau as members of the NEPAD/APRM Kenya Governing Council.
In another appointment, Ruto reappointed Titus Kipkoech Korir as the Non-Executive Chairperson of the Kenya Forest Service.
National Treasury Cabinet Secretary John Mbadi appointed Kevin Owango Onyango and Dennis Miskellah as members of the Board of Trustees of the Local Authorities Provident Fund.
Mbadi also appointed Olago Aluoch as the Non-Executive Chairperson of the National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF) Board. He further appointed Aluoch and Naomi Shiyonga Masitsa as members of the board.
The Treasury CS also appointed Gerald A. Okoko as a member of the board of the Kenya Trade Network Agency.
Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale appointed Luka Chemwolo as a member of the Kenya Medical Research Institute Council.
Agriculture and Livestock Development CS Mutahi Kagwe appointed John Karuru Mwangi as a member of the Board of Directors of the Kenya Animal Genetics Resource Centre.
Information, Communications and the Digital Economy CS William Kabogo appointed John Kieru Wambui as a member of the Council of the Kenya Institute of Mass Communication.
Environment, Climate Change and Forestry CS Deborah Barasa reappointed Jane Simita Munka as a member of the Board of Directors of the Kenya Forest Service.
Barasa also reappointed Metett Kibet Robert as a member of the Board of Directors of the Kenya Forestry Research Institute.
Meanwhile, Lands, Public Works, Housing and Urban Development CS Alice Wahome appointed Mugendi Geoffrey Moses as the Non-Executive Chairperson of the Physical Planners Registration Board.
The appointees will serve for the next three years.
