The blaze completely destroyed three vehicles which included a blue Mercedes Benz, a green Jeep Open and a Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Meanwhile, police in Vihiga County recovered 119.05kg of cannabis sativa, commonly known as bhang, valued at an estimated street value of Sh3.57 million.
The suspected narcotics were recovered on September 18, 2026, following a tip-off that prompted senior security officials to visit the DCI Sabatia offices.
The operation involved Sabatia Deputy County Commissioner Festus Munyao, Sub-County Police Commander Peter Mbua and Sub-County Administration Police Commander Jonathan Kiterie.
Five sacks containing the suspected cannabis were recovered. Crime Scene Investigation and Anti-Narcotics officers from DCI Vihiga were called in to process and document the exhibits.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the narcotics had allegedly been detained by five DCI Sabatia officers on September 13, 2026, but the recovery was not recorded in the Occurrence Book or reported through a situation report.
Police said the narcotics were allegedly found inside a black Toyota Prado, which reportedly had three deflated tyres.
The circumstances surrounding the failure to report the recovery remain under investigation.
On September 18, the five officers reportedly went to Chavakali Police Station and made a report at 3:48pm claiming that the narcotics had been recovered earlier that day at about 7am.
The recovered exhibits have since been taken to Vihiga County Police Headquarters as investigations into the narcotics recovery and the conduct of the officers continue.
