    Three-year-old dies after falling into hot water in Nakuru

    A three-year-old girl died after falling into hot water in their home in Keringet area, Kuresoi, Nakuru County.

    The girl is said to have been passing near a sufuria full of hot water at their home on Saturday when she fell into the same was seriously burnt.

    She was rushed to the hospital where she died while being attended to. Police said she had burns on her legs and buttocks then.

    The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and other procedures. Police said they are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.

    And at least four people drowned in separate incidents reported to the police on Saturday.

    The first incident happened in Ngomeni as a group of children played at the seashores of the Indian Ocean.

    The body of a four-year-old boy who had drowned in the area was discovered a day later. The drowning happened on Friday in the area. The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy.

    In Homa Bay, a one-and-half-year-old boy drowned in a pool of rain water in a trench at a home.

    The boy was playing with his elder brother when he drowned on Saturday.

    The body was moved to the mortuary pending other procedures.

    In Kamburu, Kiambu County, a two-and-half-year-old boy was found dead after a drowning incident.

    His grandmother said she found him drowned in a fish pond within their compound.

    The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy.

    In Tiaty, Baringo County, a 38-year-old man died after being swept by a seasonal river. He is said to have tried to cross the river in Tangulbei when he drowned on Saturday. He was later identified as Zachariah Katikit Makuk. The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy.

    In Nyakinyua, Trans Nzoia County, a 13-year-old boy drowned in river Sabwani.

    Police said the deceased was crossing a wooden bridge when he slid and drowned therein.

    He also tried to fetch his shoes that were being swept by the raging waters when he drowned, police said.

    The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy.

    And nine people died in separate accidents reported on Saturday night in the country. The accidents claimed six pedestrians and three riders, police said adding 21 people were injured in the incidents.
