Police are pursuing a driver who fatally hit two Finns nationals along Limuru Road, Nairobi.

The victims were pedestrians when they were hit by a speeding car on Sunday December 7, 2025 evening, police said.

The victims were identified as Mohamed Osman, 60 and Carfoon Hussain, 58.

The car was moving from Gigiri direction towards Ngara when the driver lost its control and veered off the road hitting the two who were on the pedestrian way, witnesses and police said.

Osman died on the spot while his female colleague was pronounced dead on arrival at the nearby Aga Khan Hospital.

The driver escaped from the scene after the accident, police said.

The bodies were moved to a mosque in South C pending autopsy and burial, police said.

The two were among 18 people killed on Sunday alone, police said.

They included 10 pedestrians, three riders, three pillion passengers, a driver and a passenger.

Police said 30 others people were injured in the incidents reported and included 14 pillion passengers, eight riders, five pedestrians and two passengers.

The injured are nursing wounds in hospitals.

Along Naivasha-Nairobi highway, a pedestrian was knocked and killed in an accident, police said adding the incident happened in Kiambaa area.

Along Wangari Mathai Road, a pillion passenger was killed in an accident on Sunday evening. This is after a motorcycle he was riding on was involved in a collision.

Along Thika Highway in the Witethie area, a pedestrian was fatally knocked as he crossed the road, police said.

Fatal accidents have been on the rise amid efforts to address the trend. Most of the victims are passengers and pedestrians, police say.

The accidents have left many families suffering with bills to pay for those injured. Others have lost their source of living following the accidents. More than 4,000 people are annually killed in accidents in the country in a worrying trend.
