Violet Mungatana, first wife to former Garsen Member of Parliament Danson Mungatana, is dead.
Mrs Mungatana died at the Coptic Hospital while undergoing dialysis.
She is reported to have been at the facility for the last one month.
Deputy President William Ruto led Kenyans in condoling with the family of the late Mrs Mungatana.
“Condolences to family and friends of former Garsen MP Danson Mungatana following the death of his wife, Violet Mungatana. She was a devoted family woman; kind and welcoming, who stood out for her generosity and warm heart. Rest In Peace,” the DP wrote on Twitter.

Mungatana, a lawyer by profession, is also married to second wife Mwanaisha Chidzuga. He is also said to have sired a kid with former Miss Kenya Cecilia Mwangi.
