A 22-year-old woman was found murdered and her body abandoned in her house in Narok Town.

The motive of the murder which happened on Saturday September 20, 2025 in the Majengo area was not immediately known.

The woman was identified as Maureen Wairimu Ngare. Her body was found lying in a pool of blood in her rented house with cuts on both of her hands, back, head and cheek, police said.

A sword believed to have been used in the mission was found at the scene, police said.

Police said they also recovered a mobile phone from the scene.

The woman lived alone at the time of the murder.

Her body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and investigations, police said.

Elsewhere in Ringa, Homabay County, a man was stabbed to death in a fight between two brothers over a maize plantation on their land.

Police said John Ouko succumbed to the stab injuries at their homestead in Omiro following the fighting over a maize plantation that had been fed on cattle.

The assailant claimed the deceased fed cows on his maize plantation which sparked the fighting.

The elder brother picked up a kitchen knife and stabbed Ouko in the chest and back, killing him instantly in the Saturday incident.

The suspect later surrendered to the Ringa police station and was detained pending arraignment, police said.

The body of the man was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and investigations.

Police said the suspect will be produced in court on Monday September 22, 2025 to face murder charges.

In Cheptais, Bungoma County’s Chesikaki village, one Patrick Wakwama was killed after he was attacked by a walking stick in an altercation with a guard at a bar.

The assailant was later arrested and detained for murder charges, police said of the Saturday incident.

The deceased had been at the bar where the assailant works as a security guard when the incident happened.

It is not clear what prompted the fatal altercation. The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and investigations.
