Detectives are investigating the murder of a 40-year-old woman after her body was found in her house in Majajani area, Kijipwa, Kilifi County.

The body of Dama Kingi Charo had head injuries when it was discovered on October 21, 2025, police said.

The motive of the murder was not immediately established.

The body was found lying on the floor of the house long after the murder, police who visited the scene said.

Police said a wooden object believed to have been used in the murder was recovered at the scene.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and investigations.

Elsewhere in Bar-Olengo area, Siaya County, one David Amollo alias Jeshi, 33 was found dead with deep cuts on his body, police said.

Police said they were called to the scene and informed of the murder after the body of the man was found on the roadside.

The deceased was a boda boda rider in the area. His motorcycle was missing and police believe it was the target that led to his murder.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and other procedures. Such incidents where riders are killed in robberies targeting their motorcycles have been on the rise. Police advise the riders to always cooperate with their attackers for the sake of their safety even as the probe into the incidents goes on.

And in the Miwani area, Kisumu County, a human skull was found in a sugarcane plantation.

A pair of sports shoes and dress were found next to the skull that did not have other body parts.

Other sugarcane cutters stumbled on the skull on Tuesday evening as they were busy at the farm in Kibos area before alerting the police.

The skull was moved to the mortuary pending identification and other procedures, police said.
