Three standard eight pupils have gone missing after being picked from school with a bodaboda rider.
The girls, two boarders and a day scholar, were picked by the bodaboda rider from a boarding primary school in Nyali on Wednesday, and have not been seen since.
Expressing her distress to the Nation, one of the girl’s mothers noted: “The man came and took our children. When I asked the watchman, he told us they had gone to buy viazi [potatoes].
“This is the third day, I can’t sleep or eat. I urge the Inspector General of police or the Interior CS Fred Matiang’I to help us,” cried the mother, Ms Emily Nanjala.
Ms Nanjala revealed that she had already reported the matter to Nyali Police Station whose Occurrence Book number is 26/14/3/19.
She further lamented: “My daughter, a 13-year old left home on Wednesday morning but she never came back home. I reported the matter to the police station and to date no one has helped me. My daughter might be killed or anything might have happened to her.”
Family members of the Rise and Shine Academy learners had gathered to apprehend the man suspected to have abducted the girls.
Additionally, the parents want the school management to explain the whereabouts of the students and how they left the school compound.
