    5 More Patients Succumb To Covid-19 As 246 New Cases Confirmed In Kenya

    The number of coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases in the country rose to 32,803 on Tuesday after 246 more people tested positive from 4,149 samples tested in the last 24 hours.

    The youngest patient is a two-year-old infant while the oldest is 77 years.

    Speaking during the daily Covid-19 briefing, Health Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) Rashid Aman said five more patients have succumbed to the disease. The Covid-19 death toll now stands at 559.

    At the same time, the total number of recoveries recorded in the country also rose to 19,050 after 160 patients recovered.

    A total of 124 of those discharged were from the home-based programme, while 34 were discharged from various health facilities.

    The distribution of the new cases in the counties is as follows: Nairobi 75, Kiambu 28, Kisumu 18, Machakos 16, Garissa 13, Lamu 10, Migori 9, Turkana 9, Uasin Gishu 8 Mombasa 7, Taita Taveta 7, Nyeri 6, Kilifi 5, Murang’a 4, Laikipia 4, Kitui 4, Kajiado 3, Kwale 3, Makueni, Embu, Nakuru, Nandi and Baringo 2 cases each while Bungoma, Busia, Kakamega, Nyamira, Tana River, Isiolo and Tharaka Nithi had one case each.
