Kariobangi North MCA Joel Munuve has died while undergoing treatment at a private hospital along Kiambu Road.
Nairobi County Assembly Speaker Kennedy Ngondi confirmed the news on Tuesday, saying the MCA developed chest pains while heading to his office in the Nairobi Central Business District.
“The leadership of Nairobi County is deeply saddened to announce the untimely passing of one of our members, Hon. Munuve, who was serving as the elected MCA for Kariobangi North Ward. He suddenly collapsed and died today,” said Speaker Ngondi.
The body has been moved to Lee Funeral Home pending a postmortem examination to determine the cause of death.
Munuve recently made headlines after releasing details on how Nairobi County was allegedly losing billions of shillings through questionable programs.
Ngondi described him as a hardworking and dedicated leader who always had the interests of his people at heart.
