The anti corruption court in Nairobi allowed an application by the anti graft agency to hold and retain Sh4.2 million seized at the premises of a Principal Land Registrar based in Thika.  Justice Esther Maina said the preservation order will be in force for a period of six months as the Ethics and Anti corruption Commission conclude their probe. The commission is investigating registrar Felix Nyakundi over allegations of abuse of office and embezzlement of funds. The man accused of killing his wife in Mathira, Nyeri and who died by suicide on Monday left a suicide note confessing to the crime. The body of Evans Kosgei, 28 was found dangling from a tree with a rope around his neck on Monday March 11. His body was found in Jomoko area on a tree long after he had evaded a police dragnet. He was found with the identification card of the deceased partner Jackline Jerop Kimaiyo and a suicide note indicating he was equally responsible for her murder. A leading Kenyan bus company is among 16 entities and individuals that have been sanctioned by the United States over their support for the militant group al Shabaab. The US said other than money laundering, the Crown Bus company has also supported al-Shabaab’s logistical operations. Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki Monday disclosed that the Kenyan-led Haiti Mission is in the pre-deployment stage. He said the plans to deploy the more than 1,000 cops is ongoing. Kindiki said the signing of the reciprocal agreement between Kenya and Haiti on March 1 as required by the court set the stage for the deployment. Police arrested three bank fraudsters while in the process of impersonating a bank client and withdrawing money from his account.  The three identified as Harrison Mwaura Njoroge, Stephen Nafukho Abonyo and Paul Wambua Muendo were detained in custody for five days from March 8 to enable police complete their probe. Police said they had earlier used a fake identification card of the victim to query bank balance in a different branch before proceeding to Buruburu, Nairobi for the withdrawal where they were arrested. A Kiambu court Monday threw out an assault case against ex-Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko after the withdrawal of the accusations by the complainants. Sonko had been charged with various counts of assault and forcible entry of property in Buruburu Phase Four.
