    Bailey Chase, born Bailey Chase Luetgert on May 1, 1972, in Chicago, Illinois, is an American actor known for his work in television and film.

    Raised between Barrington, Illinois, and Naples, Florida, after his parents’ divorce, Chase developed an early passion for both athletics and acting.

    He attended Duke University on a full football scholarship, playing as a linebacker, and graduated in 1995 with a degree in psychology.

    After college, he pursued acting, training at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) and later joining the improv group The Groundlings in Los Angeles.

    Chase’s early work included guest appearances on shows like Baywatch, Saved by the Bell: The New Class, Charmed, and JAG.

    His breakthrough came with a recurring role as Graham Miller in Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1999–2000), which marked his first significant television exposure.

    Chase went on to portray Chris Robert Hughes on the soap opera As the World Turns (2003–2005) and Beckett “Becks” Scott on Ugly Betty.

    His most prominent roles include Detective Butch Ada in Saving Grace (2007–2010) and Deputy Branch Connally in the critically acclaimed Longmire (2012–2017), where his portrayal of the ambitious Wyoming sheriff’s deputy earned him widespread recognition.

    Post-Longmire, Chase appeared in Grimm as Lucien Petrovich, 24: Legacy as Thomas Locke, and Queen of the South.

    His film credits include Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, The Boy Next Door, and Walk. Ride. Rodeo., where he played Cory Snyder.

    Recently, Chase starred as Henry Ise in Sod and Stubble and Jeff Eriksson in Homestead (2024), both showcasing his ability to embody complex characters.

    His stage work includes performances in The Comedy of Errors, Picnic, and Death of a Salesman, reflecting his roots in theater.
