    Bar attendant fatally stabbed in scuffle in bar in Kisii

    A 25-year-old bar attendant was stabbed to death following a scuffle at a bar in Magena Market, Kenyenya Sub-County, Kisii County.

    According to police, the incident occurred at 045 Bar in Magena Market,

    Police officers who visited the scene established that Joy Chebet Melody, a barmaid at the premises, was allegedly stabbed in the abdomen during an altercation by another woman aged 30, using a knife that was later recovered at the scene.

    The victim was rushed to Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital for treatment but succumbed to her injuries while undergoing medical care.

    The suspect was arrested and remains in police custody to assist with investigations. The recovered knife has been kept as an exhibit.

    The body of the deceased was moved to the mortuary at Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital awaiting autopsy.

    Police said investigations into the murder have commenced.

    Elsewhere, a middle-aged man was found dead under unclear circumstances in Ol Kalou, Nyandarua County, in an incident police are treating as suspected murder.

    According to police, the body of the deceased, identified as Koome, 45, was discovered on Friday lying along a fence in a lateral position within the village.

    Police said the deceased had visible physical injuries on the face, raising suspicion of foul play.

    Scenes of Crime personnel from Nyandarua Central Sub-County processed the scene before the body was moved to J.M. Kariuki Hospital Mortuary pending an autopsy and further investigations.

    Authorities have not yet disclosed the circumstances surrounding the death or possible suspects.

    And police in Sameta, Kisii County, are investigating the sudden death of a 55-year-old man whose body was discovered along the Sameta–Ogembo road.

    According to police, the incident was reported on Friday at about 12:15pm after family members received information about the death of Amos Okwema Isoe.

    The deceased was found lying lifeless at an area known as Good News.

    Police said the body had visible bruises on the right hip. Scenes of Crime personnel from Gucha documented the scene before the body was moved to Gucha Sub-County Hospital Mortuary awaiting postmortem examination and further investigations.

    The circumstances surrounding the death remain unclear.
