Bartosz Piotr Slisz is a Polish professional footballer born on 29 March 1999 in Rybnik, Poland.
He plays primarily as a defensive or central midfielder known for his high work rate, stamina, and competitive drive.
He currently represents Danish Superliga club Brøndby IF and the Poland national team.
Raised in a mining family in the Silesian region, specifically in the familok housing of Paruszowiec in Rybnik, Slisz developed his early love of the game on local courtyards before progressing through youth ranks.
His family background includes strong ties to coal mining, with his father Adam working as a miner, and he has spoken of the values of hard work and determination instilled at home.
Siblings
Bartosz has an older brother, Kamil Slisz, born in 1997, and a sister named Justyna.
Kamil, two years older, shared a close childhood bond with Bartosz.
Kamil frequently acted as the goalkeeper while Bartosz attacked, and their intense competitions helped shape Bartosz’s refusal to accept defeat.
Both trained in judo briefly before joining local football clubs, and they later played in different age groups at RKP Rybnik.
Career
Slisz began his youth career at RKP Rybnik around 2012 before moving to ROW Rybnik.
He made his senior debut with ROW Rybnik in the Polish lower divisions between 2015 and 2017, appearing in roughly 25 matches and scoring a few goals.

In 2017 he joined Zagłębie Lubin, where he gradually established himself in the Ekstraklasa, making nearly 50 league appearances and scoring twice over the following seasons.
In February 2020, Legia Warsaw signed him for a then-record fee of about €1.8 million for a domestic transfer between Ekstraklasa clubs.
At Legia he became a regular, contributing to major domestic successes and featuring in European competitions including Champions League and Europa League qualifying as well as group stages.
He made well over 100 league appearances for the club across four years.
In January 2024 he transferred to Major League Soccer side Atlanta United on a multi-year deal, where he featured regularly over two seasons, logging dozens of appearances and contributing goals and assists while adapting to the physical demands of the league.
In January 2026 he returned to Europe, signing a three-and-a-half-year contract with Danish club Brøndby IF.
On the international stage, Slisz progressed through Poland’s youth teams, including the under-20 side that competed at the 2019 FIFA U-20 World Cup, before earning senior caps from 2021 onward and participating in UEFA Euro 2024.
Accolades
With Legia Warsaw, Slisz won the Ekstraklasa title in both the 2019–20 and 2020–21 seasons. He also collected the Polish Cup in 2022–23 and the Polish Super Cup in 2023–24.
Earlier, while associated with Zagłębie Lubin’s reserve side, he was part of a lower-league championship success.
Individually he earned the Ekstraklasa Young Player of the Month award for September 2019.
He has represented Poland at major tournaments including the UEFA European Championship in 2024 and contributed to the national team’s campaigns in Nations League and World Cup qualifying matches, scoring his first senior international goal in a friendly.
