Former NFL head coach Brian Daboll has an estimated net worth of $12 million. Daboll is best known for serving as head coach of the New York Giants from 2022 to 2025, where he quickly transformed the struggling franchise into a playoff team during his debut season. A respected offensive strategist with decades of coaching experience, Daboll built his reputation through successful stints with several NFL teams, most notably helping develop quarterback Josh Allen into one of the league’s elite passers during his time with the Buffalo Bills.

His coaching résumé also includes five Super Bowl victories earned during two separate stints with the New England Patriots under legendary coach Bill Belichick.

Daboll’s breakthrough as a head coach came in 2022 when he guided the Giants to their first playoff victory in more than a decade and won NFL Coach of the Year honors. However, following several difficult seasons and inconsistent offensive performances, the Giants moved on from Daboll after the 2025 season.

    Brian Daboll Salary and Contracts

When the Giants hired Brian Daboll in January 2022, he reportedly signed a five-year contract running through the 2026 season.

The deal was estimated to be worth between $25 million and $30 million, placing his annual salary between $5 million and $6 million per year.

The contract reflected the Giants’ confidence in Daboll following his highly successful run as offensive coordinator in Buffalo.

    Early Life

Brian Daboll was born on April 14, 1975, in Welland, Ontario, Canada, but he was raised in West Seneca, New York, near Buffalo.

After being brought up by his grandparents, Chris and Ruth Kirsten, Daboll developed an early passion for football.

He attended Saint Francis High School in Hamburg, New York, where he played football alongside future football executive Dave Caldwell and future coach Brian Polian.

Following high school, Daboll enrolled at the University of Rochester, where he played safety and became a two-year starter on the football team.

He graduated with a degree in economics, though his future ultimately led him toward coaching rather than business.

    Early Coaching Career

Brian Daboll’s coaching journey began in 1997 at the College of William & Mary, where he worked as a restricted earnings assistant coach.

A year later, he joined Michigan State University as a graduate assistant under head coach Nick Saban, a mentorship that would later prove highly influential in his career.

During those years, Daboll developed the detailed preparation style and disciplined coaching philosophy that became trademarks of his NFL success.

New England Patriots and Super Bowl Success

Daboll entered the NFL in 2000 when he joined the New England Patriots coaching staff under first-year head coach Bill Belichick.

Initially serving as a defensive assistant, he later became the team’s wide receivers coach in 2002.

His first stint in New England coincided with one of football’s greatest dynasties, as the Patriots captured three Super Bowl championships during his time there.

After the 2006 season, Daboll departed for a new opportunity with the New York Jets.

    NFL Offensive Coordinator Roles

Over the next decade, Daboll gained experience across several organizations while steadily building his reputation as an offensive coach.

    New York Jets

In 2007, he became the quarterbacks coach for the Jets under head coach Eric Mangini, working with quarterbacks including Chad Pennington, Kellen Clemens, and Brett Favre.

When Mangini was fired after the 2008 season, Daboll was not retained.

    Cleveland Browns

Daboll reunited with Mangini in 2009 as offensive coordinator of the Cleveland Browns, marking his first major play-calling role.

    Miami Dolphins

In 2011, he joined the Miami Dolphins as offensive coordinator, helping improve the team’s offense from near the bottom of league rankings.

However, coaching changes led to another departure after just one season.

    Kansas City Chiefs

Daboll moved to the Kansas City Chiefs in 2012 as offensive coordinator under Romeo Crennel, but the team struggled to a 2–14 record, resulting in staff changes.

Return to New England and Alabama Championship Run

In 2013, Daboll returned to the Patriots, this time as tight ends coach, where he worked closely with star tight end Rob Gronkowski.

The Patriots captured two additional Super Bowl titles during this period, giving Daboll five championship rings overall.

In 2017, he briefly returned to college football, reuniting with Nick Saban as offensive coordinator for the Alabama Crimson Tide.

His lone season with Alabama ended in triumph when the team defeated Georgia to win the 2018 College Football Playoff National Championship.

Buffalo Bills and Josh Allen Breakthrough

Daboll’s biggest breakthrough came in 2018, when he became offensive coordinator for the Buffalo Bills.

There, he played a crucial role in developing young quarterback Josh Allen, transforming him from an inconsistent passer into an MVP-caliber player.

By 2020, Allen was posting franchise passing records while Buffalo emerged as one of the NFL’s top offenses.

The Bills finished 13–3, their best record in decades, and Daboll won the Associated Press NFL Assistant Coach of the Year Award.

His success made him one of the most sought-after coaching candidates in the NFL.

    New York Giants Head Coach

In January 2022, the Giants hired Brian Daboll as the franchise’s 20th head coach.

    His impact was immediate.

The Giants finished the 2022 season with a 9–7–1 record, earning their first playoff berth since 2016. They also secured their first postseason win in more than a decade after defeating the Minnesota Vikings in the NFC Wild Card Round.

Though the team later lost to the Philadelphia Eagles, the season was viewed as a major success.

For his efforts, Daboll was named the 2022 NFL Coach of the Year.

However, the momentum proved difficult to sustain.

The Giants struggled with injuries, inconsistent quarterback play, and offensive regression over the following seasons. After a disappointing 2025 campaign, the organization parted ways with Daboll on November 10, 2025.

    Personal Life

Brian Daboll married his wife, Beth, in 2009.

The couple reportedly met in 2006 at a bar in Buffalo, New York, and blended their families after both had previously been married.

Together, they have raised children from their prior relationships while maintaining a relatively private family life away from the spotlight.
