Caf’s Disciplinary Board has fined Gor Mahia Ksh 500,000 for “unsporting behavior” during their Confederation Cup match against Rayon Sports at the Kasarani Stadium.
K’Ogalo supporters were found guilty of hurling bottles onto the pitch after Rayon grabbed the winning goal that effectively ended their campaign in the tournament.
“The spectators were good until the second goal of Rayon Sports, when they – Gor Mahia’s supporters threw bottles threw bottles and other objects at the players,”
The CAF Disciplinary Board decided to impose upon your club a financial sanction of $5000 for unsporting and offensive behaviors of your supporters,” a letter from the Cairo-based organization reads.
Gor, who are struggling financially and have not paid players’ salaries allowances, have three days to appeal the decision.

The chairman Ambrose Rachier said they would “examine the decision and weigh out options” on whether to launch an appeal or not.
He pleaded with fans to always restrain themselves to avoid inflicting more harm on the club.
“It’s quite unfortunate and we appeal to our fans to always refrain from such behaviors even in the face of provocation because the consequences are always heavy like in this case,” Rachier told the club’s website.
