    Driver Of Medina Bus That Killed 14 People At Matuu, Arrested

    Driver of a bus belonging to Medina Sacco, that claimed 14 lives in Matuu, Machakos County has been arrested.

    The unidentified driver fled the scene of accident on Wednesday morning. He will however be arraigned in court to face various charges.

    A number of the victims including Mandera Governor Ali Roba’s bodyguard were travelling to Nairobi.

    The county chief has pledged Sh6 million to help settle medical bills of those admitted at Matuu Level 4 hospital and cater for the needs of the bereaved.

    According to a survivor, Abdulrashid Mohammed, the driver was over-speeding and kept on ignoring complaints from the passengers.

    “We kept complaining to the driver about loud music and speeding, but he turned a deaf ear,” he recalled.
