Gathoni wa Muchomba on Thursday apologized to Kiambu residents for her remarks on SRC’s move to slash MPs salaries.
The newly elected Woman Rep on Wednesday shocked many when she disagreed with SRC’s recommendations saying she deserved better pay as she had used her money to campaign.
Speaking on NTV, Wa Muchomba also claimed that for her to work she needed to be well paid.
“I deserve better pay. I need to look decent and honorable as a woman rep,” she said.
Agitated Kiambu residents immediately launched a campaign to recall her before she took the oath.
The former Kameme Fm presenter did however say she was sorry for the pain she caused the electorates.

“I offer my sincerest apology to my party patron and President Uhuru Kenyatta, my fellow constituents, staff, family and especially all Kenyans who were offended by my comments.”
“I withdraw the comments and commit to continue to serve you diligently and abide by the SRC salary scales without question,” she said in a statement.
The soon to be legislator was heavily criticized by Kenyans online and some made fun of her:
