
Mombasa Governor, Ali Hassan Joho’s campaign car was attacked by bystanders while in traffic.
The pick up was sandwiched between a convoy believed to belong to his rivals. The man in the back was beaten up by two other men while others threw stones at the car.

Cases of violence have been reported in Mombasa county in recent times. Wiper candidate Hassan Omar’s campaign track was on July 6 vandalized by unknown people.
The Senator who is also vying for the county top seat blamed the incident on Joho saying that he has been using his position to intimidate people.
The two will face off in the August election that is ten days away. Jubilee’s Suleiman Shahbal and Nyali Mp Hezron Awiti are also contesting for the Mombasa governor seat.
