The Karen Blixen Museum has announced temporary closure dates affecting visitors in April and May 2026.

In a notice issued on Tuesday, April 7, the museum informed the public that it will be closed on Saturday, April 11, and again on Friday, May 1, 2026. The facility will, however, remain open and operational on all other days.

“We apologize for any inconvenience caused and appreciate your understanding,” the notice stated.

Located approximately 10 kilometres outside Nairobi at the foot of the Ngong Hills, the museum is the former home of renowned Danish author Karen Blixen. It gained international recognition through her 1937 memoir Out of Africa, which chronicles her life on the estate during her time in Kenya.

The site remains one of the country’s key cultural and historical attractions, drawing both local and international visitors year-round.
