Kariobangi Sharks ran riot, annihilating Arta Solar 6-0 in the CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round first leg match played at the Kasarani Stadium Tuesday.

Sharks were representing Kenya for the very first time in continental football and the humongous result will forever remain part of their young history.

The coach William Muluya’s side got off the blocks early in the game and managed to grab the opener through Duke Abuya two minutes into play.

Sydney Lokale doubled the lead ten minutes later with debutant Nixon Omondi making it 3-0 at the quarter hour mark.

Kenyan international Patillah Omotto powered in a header for the fourth in the 37th minute but the visitors pulled one back from the spot through Komenan Konani in the 44th minute.

More goals came in the second half with Ugandan striker George Abege getting his name on the score-sheet with the fifth two minutes after the breather.

Fidel Origa delivered the last nail on the coffin with the sixth in the 92nd for a huge 6-1 win.

Sharks will travel to Djibouti for the second leg on December 4. The aggregate winner will face Asante Kotoko of Ghana for a spot in the playoffs round.
