Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiangi is again warning users of social media users against “spreading rumours” or anything that he doesn’t agree with.

While agree with the CS that some of the information being shared is not verified, Matiangi needs to understand social media and stop issuing blanket threats since they always worsen the situation since anybody bent on stirring commotion can assume anonymous identities.

Matiangi needs to discharge his duties but he should also realise that social media is a unique platform. Some of these warnings works well in countries with strictly controlled systems like China, Saudi Arabia and UAE.

Apart from the warnings to social media users, Matiangi also revealed that there is peace all over the country and the police has not received any threats to peace from any part of the country.

The police is still monitoring the situation but all is fine now.
