The Deputy President, William Ruto will not be present during the running mate debate slated for Monday.

Ruto hinted at missing in action on Saturday. According to the ‘hustler,’ he only learnt about the debate through a news alert.

According to Communications Director PSCU, Dennis Itumbi, Ruto will be represented by MP Kikuyu, Kimani Ichung’wa.

Itumbi says that the DP will be away on political campaign tours in Lamu and Tana River together with the President.

Kikuyu MP, Kimani Ichung'wah, will represent Deputy President @WilliamsRuto in the running mate debate, scheduled for tomorrow

Many however say that the Deputy President is just not ready to go toe to toe with NASA’s Kalonzo Musyoka.

This is not an excuse. He's best at lying to Kenyans and insulting leaders in political rallies but can't attend a debate to discuss issues

The Debates Media Limited has had a rough time organizing both the Presidential and Running mate debates.

They have been accused by both political divides of being arrogant, disorganized.

Kimani Ichung’wa is also the only Member of Parliament sure of being part of the 12 parliament. He was unopposed in his re-election bid for the Kikuyu seat.

Kalonzo Musyoka will be part of the running mate debate for a second time running.
