The two men got into a physical confrontation during which the assailant allegedly stabbed Otiendo in the stomach with a sharp object.

Police officers who responded to the incident found Fred lying beside the road in the Kombedu area, bleeding heavily.

Both men were rushed to Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital (JOOTRH) for treatment.

Otiendo died while undergoing treatment, while Fred was admitted in critical condition with stab wounds on his arms, legs and back.

Police moved the body to the JOOTRH mortuary, where it is awaiting postmortem examination.
