    Career

Leddy starred at Eden Prairie High School, where he won a state championship and earned the prestigious Mr. Hockey award in Minnesota as a senior.

He played one season at the University of Minnesota before turning pro.

After his draft rights were acquired by Chicago, he made his NHL debut in the 2010-11 season and quickly established himself as a key contributor on the Blackhawks’ blue line, helping the team capture the 2013 Stanley Cup.

He was traded to the New York Islanders in 2014, where he spent seven seasons and enjoyed some of his most productive offensive outputs as a top-pair defenseman.

Subsequent stops included the Detroit Red Wings and St. Louis Blues, where he played his 1,000th NHL game in 2024.

In July 2025, he was claimed off waivers by the San Jose Sharks.

Known for his durability and consistency, Leddy has appeared in more than 1,070 regular-season games, recording around 76 goals and 347 assists for 423 points.
