    Probe as decomposed body is found in thicket near Syokimau hotel at JKIA

    Detectives are investigating the death of a man whose decomposed body was found outside a hotel in Syokimau at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, Nairobi.

    Security guards at the Hilton Garden Inn Hotel said they were on August 28, 2025 gone to check the level of water in tanks on the roof top of the facility when they saw the body in a nearby thicket.

    The body lay within the JKIA land about 200 meters from the hotel.

    The body was found to be aged about 55.

    Police said the man did not have identification documents then.

    The body had decomposed and was moved to the morgue pending an identification and autopsy.

    The hotel said the body was found at the JKIA land and not their compound.

    Elsewhere in Mombasa, police are investigating the death of a mechanic whose body was found in a container in Jomvu area.

    Isaac Ndegwa, 51 worked at Simamu Garage in the area where his body was found lying on Thursday night, police said.

    The body lay on a mattress long after the death.

    The cause of the death was not immediately known, police said as they moved the body to the morgue pending an autopsy.

    In Likuyani, Kakamega County, a 40-year-old woman was stabbed and killed in an attack in her house.

    Unknown assailants fatally stabbed Matilda Nyambura in her house on Thursday night, police said.

    Police said the woman was stabbed in the head and neck. The killer weapon was found at the scene.

    A witness who claimed the attack was detained for grilling. He is said to have been in the house at the time of the attack. The motive of the attack is yet to be known, police said as they moved the body to the morgue pending an autopsy.
