Agnes Kavindu, Senator Muthama’s estranged wife

Senator Johnson Muthama’s estranged first wife Agnes Kavindu was on Monday handed a Jubilee party nomination certificate to run for Machakos Woman Rep.

Kavindu was among those who got the party’s go ahead to run in the August General Election in Machakos.

In 2014, she had accused the senator of detaining her in their home. Kavindu, has since found her footing is now going for the elective post.

Muthama, who many would describe as a thorn in the Jubilee government’s flesh, quit the Wiper party last week in what he termed as mismanagement by the leader, Kalonzo Musyoka.

The senator however will be seeking re-election as an independent candidate come August 8.
